Mobile Phlebotomy vs. Traditional Lab Visits: What Concierge Practices Should Know

August 03, 2026 · Signature House Call

A traditional lab visit asks the patient to do the traveling: driving to a draw site, waiting in a shared room, and working around the lab's hours rather than their own. For most patients this is a minor inconvenience. For concierge patients, it can feel like a step down from the rest of their care experience.

Mobile phlebotomy reverses that arrangement. A licensed phlebotomist comes to the patient, on a schedule that fits their day, in a setting that is private and comfortable. The specimen is still delivered to the same laboratory the practice already uses: nothing changes on the testing side, only on the collection side.

For physicians, the practical difference shows up in patient satisfaction and adherence. Patients who find lab visits inconvenient sometimes delay or skip routine bloodwork. Removing that friction tends to improve how consistently patients complete the panels their care plan calls for.
